Kiss my heart

London’s live music scene hasn’t been the same since Saachi Sen blessed it with her awesomeness. With her pure and innocent vocal tones, and carefully written songs guaranteed to brighten up any day and put smiles on faces every single time, Saachi sung her way into the hearts of the UK Capital’s most discerning indie and pop fans and is on her way to becoming a star – but you knew that already didn’t you? Wait, you didn’t? You “don’t say” (pun intended). 

“Don’t Say It”, Saachi’s latest single was released back in the summer of 2020, in the heat of the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic which everyone is hoping will just go away already. Like many records released during the time, it doesn’t seem to have received as much promotion as it deserved but it got a lot of love from those who were lucky enough to hear it at the time and the buzz is growing at a much quicker rate now. Like many of the young fast-rising pop star’s tracks this song shows immense artistic growth. It’s bigger, it’s fuller, perfectly structured, and has all the makings of pop hit – except, without the meaningless words and all the pink, and twerking and stuff, thankfully (sigh!). This is one of those songs you can listen to all the way through and not at some point start to feel like you somehow hit your head somewhere during the course of listening to the record and you are now little red riding hood; and you hope the wolf will “eat” you (wink, wink) while wearing your grandma’s clothes and smoking a cigarette; till your "ears pop" (wink, wink) and you too need a cigarrete. Yep, pop music hardly makes much or any sense nowadays if you listen to the lyrics even for a second, but this is good, this is really good. It’s about love, it stays on the subject of love and it feels like it’s about love all the way through – it’s so refreshing and reassuring to hear that there are still artists out there like Saachi who write from the heart, not for Hearts (and Likes).

Released on the 17th of April, in the thick of London’s lockdown, Saachi Sen’s “Flaunt” is an exciting new track that was just as well-timed as it was well-received. With so much meaningless pop music out there, tracks like this are always a very refreshing reminder that there are still artists who not only know what they are doing musically but also take time to write heart-warming songs that mean something. This is one of those records with the uncanny ability to turn any moment into a fresh, cool, breezy spring morning and inspire the much needed comfort and calm that these dire times call for. It was recorded at Spotify’s prestigious Secret Genius Studios in London.

Innocent, moving, sweet, gentle, elegant and ever so uplifting; this is one of those songs that stimulates a very rich, impactful and pure emotional response every single time. It makes you feel like you can do anything - almost like a drug, only, it’s good for you. With so much going on in the world, and yet so little - with everything at a standstill owing to global lockdowns with no end in sight, it’s so easy to retreat or even surrender completely, at least for a while till everything calms down. This record reminds us to let go but keep pressing on. It received the prestigious PRS for Music Lynsey de Paul songwriting price.

Exquisite!

Good pop

“Dark” is the latest release by London’s sweetheart Saachi Sen. Saachi made her debut with the release of “Heal” back in 2012 when she was still fresh out of high school and heading for university. She quickly gained the attention of the Capital’s most discerning live music venues and booking agents, and was able to secure a good number of gigs in and around the South East, where she became a sensation. Saachi is now gaining widespread recognition across the UK and performing at some of the most prestigious venues and festivals. The new record is evidence of her growth artistically over the years, and is one of those records that is so masterful yet so low-key that you'd think to yourself, “hey, how haven’t I heard this before?” It’s one of those songs that doesn’t beg for your attention but gains every shred of it just for that mere fact. If you go on the iTunes store to download it you’ll probably find it under “pop”, but this is bigger than pop in every way and in fact the label is more of an insult to the track than anything else – maybe adult contemporary or something that still has a little bit of dignity. We love pop music but there’s only so much "pink, pink, pink, everything pink - happy, happy, happy, everyone hates me - I hate everything but I love big butts" a music lover can take at some point before starting to crave something that actually makes sense. This is a really powerful song with passion, conviction, and it’s much bigger and louder vocally and production-wise than anything we’ve ever heard from the London singer songwriter. It’s poised to do well in both indie and mainstream circles.

Someone likes you

A consolation prize that's better than winning

If you've ever had one of those days when you feel like the world is constantly shitting on you, and only you specifically, and it's almost starting to feel like a conspiracy to keep you down, or you've ever had a bad day so bad you feel like you could never possibly get out of the house ever again, this is one of those songs that will make wallowing in your sorrows and feeling sorry for yourself ever so rewarding. But let's not spoil it with too much talk. Now kindly tell the world - "your lips, my butt, they should meet", draw your curtains, poor yourself a hot cup of tea or coffee, and get cosy with this classic release by London, UK singer songwriter, Saachi, who has made a name for herself as one of the sweetest songbirds with a guitar out there today. Loud?

Saachi Sen boasts one of the most beautiful voices currently on London's emerging music scene. She's a joy to listen to recorded and even more spectacular to watch live. She plays regularly at some of the region's top live music venues and has become one of the most in demand upcoming London acts in the UK. She has been longlisted to perform at the 2019 Glastonbury music festival along with several other exceptionally talented UK music acts and the odds are looking very good. If artists like Lily Allen float your boat then this record will certainly make your day. It's very loud and jazzy with a live feel that almost has a busy, if not mildly chaotic ambiance about it - it almost feels like something is about to go wrong somewhere, somehow, or like anything could happen at any moment, but then nothing does. It's one of those records that keeps your attention all the way through and then breaks your heart by coming to an end, like all good things do eventually.

An exciting record about the music business
