"I'll See You Later"
Hip Hop

“I’ll See You Later” was a pretty low-key release which sadly wasn’t given as much publicity as other Wiz Kid The Weirdo songs. It only appeared on Soundcloud and selected independent music streaming platforms, and didn’t appear alongside the rest of his repertoire on Spotify, Apple Music and popular digital music services for some reason, but it certainly deserved to. Released back in 2019, it’s a mellow track that offers a very much missed vibe in hip hop, with lyrics centered around hard work, progress, moving on, and leaving the past behind; written exquisitely, with a narrative approach.

Aah!

Released on the 3rd of May, “iSing” is the brand new single by emerging Atlanta, Georgia rapper, Wiz Kid The Weirdo, who has made a name for himself simply by being different every step of the way of his career. Right from his debut single, “Miss Molly”, it was clear Wiz was on his way to becoming the next big hip hop artist out of Georgia, and this year fans have experienced a tenfold improvement in his sound and marvelled as all the pieces of his unique style come together like a jigsaw puzzle. If, like many hip hop fans you have had to resort to listening to a lot of throwaway songs that you forget the instant you are force-fed yet another glimpse of Cardi B’s boobies by MTV or whatever your music source is, then this song will do things to your ears and your psyche that you are probably not ready for but nevertheless need to experience. Production-wize, the record will take you back to the days when Dr. Dre had the world’s heads ringing with complex masterfully orchestrated beats. Throw this on when you are in the mood for something intellectually stimulating, insightful and intelligent.

How was your day?

How was it?

Was it fun? Was it exciting? Did you meet anyone new? Or an old friend you’d been hoping to run into? Maybe an old lover or your high school sweetheart? Did you remember to live a little bit and have a little fun in your life? Well if you didn’t, make sure to do so tomorrow. And here’s an exciting song that will kiss you hip hop collection better and make it feel like it has something to live for once again, because obviously you probably haven’t heard any good hip hop today either, at least not from this decade.

Grab a chair, throw your headphones on or turn your speaker volume to something moderately loud, hit the play button and let’s take it from there …

Listening to this song for the first time was like getting pulled over by the cops late at night in a bad neighbourhood after one too many drinks, with a pound of weed and a pistol in the glove compartment; and then being advised by a friendly officer to be careful on the road ahead because one of the traffic lights is out - Phew!!

(hypothetically speaking of course, wink wink)

You'll feel a sense of release and warmth inside so strong it'll make you want to cry.

PS: OJ’s other glove was in there.

Simplicity in all its glory

Electrifying hip hop track that sizzles and rumbles, with a mesmerising and deeply intoxicating beat and a very satisfying repetitive piano melody that’s just as dark and pensive as it is pleasing. This is one of those hip hop tracks that’ll make you sit up and listen close. Wiz Kid has been showcasing his production work behind the scenes in the recording studio a little more nowadays, releasing beats from his repertoire in addition to songs, and this song makes it clear why. It’s creatively exciting in ways hip hop fans have probably not experienced in a long time. It’s different yet ever so familiar. It’s fresh yet ever so raw, with a very simple and almost plain feel. Simple has never sounded so good.

"I Got The Sauce"
Hip Hop

We all listen to music for various reasons. Sometimes it’s just to get the day started, sometimes to make us feel good when we're down, for concentration or distraction, to kill that haunting feeling that results from prolonged periods of silence, to drown out noise, to set the mood right when the old bedroom windows are about to get fogged up, during exercise, and the list goes on and on and on. Here’s a song for when you are at the top of your game and you feel the need to say it out loud. One of those records your hip hop collection will thank you for and your speakers will stand up straight and wipe the cold out its eyes to play. Infectious slow/mid-tempo beat that will reach inside your soul and light up your hip hop fireplace. Vibrating bass line that’ll make your heart rumble. Mesmerising piano melody that will put you in the mind state of a maestro. A very dreamy, spacious feel. Repetitive lyrics that’ll make your head spin. A very cool, confident vibe overall.

Released on the 31st of October, “I Got The Sauce” is the latest single by Georgia, US underground hip hop sensation, Wiz Kid The Weirdo, who is known for his very unique and versatile rap style. It’s a very simple and minimal record and is very different from anything he has ever done. It boasts a much bigger sound, the production is superb and it has a lot of commercial appeal.

Bad B*tches Love Money - BBLM

Released on the 1st of August, BBLM is the latest single by critically acclaimed unsigned Michigan rapper, Wiz Kid The Weirdo. It follows just over 3 months since his last single, "Nympho" took the region by storm and it is following suit as every record he has released since he made his mark in the region a few years back has done. Though fans may now get as much music from Wiz as they probably would like, it's clear he takes his time with his craft and ensures that not only is each song good and better than the last, but it also doesn't sound like anything else out at the time either.

Hailed as one of his best records ever, BBLM is being looked upon as the record that could secure him a place on the international hip hop stage.

Get the handcuffs

The latest single by Michigan underground rapper, Wiz Kid The Weirdo has proven to be one for the books. It was released on the 11th of May, and has received and continues to receive high praises locally and nationally as it spreads like wild fire, leaving nothing but pandemonium and sex maniacs everywhere it plays. It's loud and noisy with a very busy sound that's exciting, macho and raunchy. An intense record that commands full attention from start to finish.
