"Jus Like That"
Hip Hop
Good music is indescribable. It reaches deep in your soul and either makes you feel things you’ve never felt before, or it makes you feel things you’ve felt before all over again. It could make you happy, sad, angry or excited, but whatever the case may be you’ll feel accomplished afterwards and you’ll want nothing more than to do it all over again – so you hit repeat, and just like that the feeling is back one more time. Good musicians don’t have to try too hard to make a good song, it comes naturally more often than not. Sure, it’s common to hear of artists struggling to make another big hit but that’s just life. Good things hardly ever come as easy the second time around but when they do they are pretty darn amazing. St. Louis rapper, Chingy is known for his distinctive nursery rhyme style flow. It’ll make you feel like a grown little man learning the letters of the alphabet all over again, while simultaneously holding your head trying to remember when last you felt so good. He’s one of those artists that could make a hit record singing a, b, c, d. “Jus Like That” was released on the 24th of September. It’s just one of several records that has left critics second-guessing themselves, and probably feeling silly too, for ever thinking such a great rapper could ever fall off, even after several years away from the microphone and out of the limelight. It’s one of those songs you hear and think “Good God, they really don’t make ‘em like this anymore”. Hip hop has always been about the lyrics and nothing but the lyrics. Sure when the pioneers of rap talk about how it all started what you here is “two turntables and a microphone”, but take away the turntables and a good rapper will do just as well.
Explicit.
