Ez The Lyrical Skitzo (Ezus Christ)
"Question Of The Night"
Hip Hop
What would Jesus do?
Jesus must have been a very complex individual. When was the last time you met anyone whose blood consisted entirely of alcohol? – was he wasted 24/7? Or have we been attending the wrong churches?
Many Christians read the Bible and believe they know everything there is to know about him but the truth is that is just not the case. Read the biography of Barack Obama, Oprah, Bill Clinton or any living public figure, or watch Keeping Up With The Kardashians every single day and you’ll still never know everything about them - apart from, in the case of the Kardashians, how big their boobs are, what they look like naked, how often they trim their burning bushes, and how disgusted/annoyed/nauseous/gay/turned on you would feel (Lamar) if one of your best buds (Bruce) told you he had been a woman inside all along - or would you just try to f*ck him/her? Not to talk of a man was unpopular in mainstream circles and hence would have probably been keeping a low profile where necessary, and who lived so many years ago, when there were no cameras, no telephones, illiteracy was rampant and hence not much writing or reading was being done, and medicine was not advanced so it was impossible to know if people were experiencing miracles, crazy or just seeing things after consuming substances no one would have identified as drugs at the time. He promised to return but has disappointed more people than Disney’s remake of the Lion King. Even the terminator has been back more times than Jesus, but who’s counting?
Philadelphia, US underground hip hop star, Ezus Christ’s latest album, “Pray 4 Me” has been hailed as “the best thing since the word of God”. Ez’s sound is crisp, fresh and would make you feel like you slipped on a banana peel, maneuvered your way into a backflip instead of falling flat on your back and kept skipping along like nothing happened. It’s been described as “lyrically juicy”, “metaphorically masterful” and “powerful”, and every single one of his releases leaves critics more dumbfounded than the last. “Pray 4 Me” took that masterful sound, cranked it up a 100 notches and sprinkled it with so much love Jesus would come back for it. Sitting in position number 13 of the 19 track album, “Question of the Night” is a sexy club anthem that slows the hardcore, machine gun paced record down a little bit. It also does well to show Ez’s versatility lyrically as well as stylistically. The track was released to critical acclaim on the 25th of November, exactly one month before Jesus’ birthday. If Ezus had waited a month later it would have been more exciting than Christmas, what would Jesus do?
Explicit.
