"Big Flex"
Hip Hop
Huge!
It’s been a hard day and all you want is a cold beer and some hot new hip hop. But not the kind of hip hop recommended by Spotify because you played Vanilla Ice or Milli Vanilli that one time. Or some booty call hip hop the suspiciously cheap music streaming service thinks every hip hop fan must hear. All you want is some really really good stuff with that Oomph!! and that resulting aaahhh! that makes you want to grab a punching bag and pretend it’s your boss’ testicles for a few minutes, and then return fully energised and fired up to make something really big happen soon as you get back on the job.
"Big Flex" is one of those records you can immediately tell someone very talented with a vision invested a lot of time, effort and resources to create. DC has been known in Arkansas for his crisp, distinctively exciting sound. His records possess an unmistakable feel-good vibe that never fails to set off a certain amount of tenacity in every listener. It’s not the type of hip hop that’ll have you out late at night with a loaded pistol looking for someone that owed you money years ago when you don’t even need it or want it any more; DC makes tracks that’ll make you feel like you can do anything. His songs are motivational and fresh in a way that the minute you hit the play button you feel like a maestro about do something big.
“Big Flex” was released on the 28th of June, in the thick of summer. It quickly became a summer hit and was followed by the Big Flex Tour which took the record to every self-respecting club and live music venue in the Southern region of the United States, and further solidified his position as one of the region’s next big hip hop acts. It features Jay Lew from the popular MTV show Wild 'N Out. Boasting a very spacious, dark, minimal beat, so infectious it’d get an Armadillo on its feet; production that’d get Dr. Dre’s head ringing and a rumbling bass line that’d make you feel like somebody’s mama just walked on to the dance floor, “Big Flex” is a party starter that is poised to keep the clubs rumbling for a very long time.
Explicit.
