The mainstream media has been guilty of many silly headlines. Yes, they do the job of getting people excited enough to grab a paper in the morning, or as the case is nowadays, click on what looks like an exciting news story and then end up subsequently clicking on what looks like an even more exciting ad minutes or even seconds later. Whether boarding the train or reading it while taking that blissful morning dump after that first coffee, these headlines stick with readers through the day and could have a huge impact on lives, so it’s always disheartening when big names like the culprit here, The Daily Star in the UK, say things that not only make no sense but go a step further and sound stupid. Just before the UK lockdown began their headline read “Become a couch potato”. We had the great pleasure of wiping our monkey, Selfie (@SelfieHotspot) with a copy of it after his morning coffee and posting it back to their local office. Hopefully they won’t trace it back to us.
Now that that’s out of the way let’s get right down to the song of the day, “Wastin’ Time”, the latest release by California singer and saxophonist, Ava Lemert, who has kept and continues to keep real soul music alive on the West Coast region’s buzzing live music scene. Wes' Si-ide!
No, it’s not a song about wasting time as the title may suggest, rather, it’s a song about not wasting it by giving everything you’ve got every single time you get a chance.
