"Since I Got That Bag"
Hip Hop

Welcome to the house of pain - you know what to do.

This track is one of the several highly rated tracks on Atlanta rapper, Yung Rackz' 2018 mixtape, "Call it a Trap Tape". Anyone who had been advocating that hip hop was dead at the time of its release back in January would have had a hard time standing by their prior statements and would have had to re-evaluate the whole situation right from the history of the genre to its evolution and what it is today. Mainstream hip hop may be very well dead, but if you know where to look you'll find that hip hop is still very much alive if you know where to search. You're are here so you're definitely doing something right and you're on your way to discovering the secret places where hip hop still lives on.

Yung Rackz isn't one of those guys that just releases throw-away music, so when he drops a new record fans know to take it seriously, and they've done exactly that with "Call it a Trap Tape". There are no pop songs on the mixtape, no mass appeal style records, no gimmicks and no nonsense, just serious hip hop music with a purpose. "Since I Got That Bag" is one of the several carefully-crafted tracks you won't be able to get out of your head once you've heard. It features that ominous yet ever so pleasant piano played to perfection in such a way that it creates the gloomy yet hopeful and motivational backdrop that many Rackz fans have become so addicted to; that's slow bounce that'll keep you nodding empathetically before you start bouncing and moving uncontrollably; full bodied, bassy vocals that are much more pleasing to the ear than the new high pitched soft speaking tones that are becoming too popular for comfort in today's hip hop; and fiece, hungry delivery all the way through as usual - you can almost taste the pain.

Like many good records, it's hard to put a finger on exactly why "Since I Got That Bag" is such a hit because there are so many reasons. It's real, it's dark, gripping, it tells a story, it's written masterfully, performed exquisitely, produced to the utmost perfection, and it'll put you in the mindstate of a hustler so you can appreciate all the horrible things you don't have to do for a living.

Explicit.
