Here's a remix of Warner Bros Records rapper, Joe Gifted's single, "Water" that will make you feel like you're walking on some. If you don't know this gentleman (well maybe not so gentle) who goes by the name of Durt Boi by now you'd better get to know him, or risk letting hip hop music as we know it find its resting place in the hairy bossom of a sweet, kind, booty popping, twerking rapper (yes, you guessed right - like Big Freedia). And yes, that's where hip hop is heading - or wait, isn't it already there?
We all want our hardcore hip hop and gangsta rap back. How did we go from NWA, Tupac, Dr. Dre, Wu Tang, Master P, Slick Rick, B.I.G and Big Pun to these these soft slash hard, size 0, singer slash rapper slash model types wearing t-shirts longer than most dresses ladies wear today in just over a decade? We're sick and tired of it, enough is enough!
Phew! What a load off.
Now this track is just one of several fresh new hits that'll be coming your way from Tennessee, USA's very own rap resurrector this year. Durt Boi has been in the game for years honing his craft underground and this is his year - remember you heard it here first.
To put it plain and simple, "On God" is a lyrical assassination no one would ever wish on their favorite rapper's favorite beat. It's lyrically masterful, it's artistically exceptional, fierce, original, raw, and most of all, it will reassure you that what you've been missing so dearly in today's hip hop is still very much alive if you know where to find it. You're here so obviously you're doing something right.
