The Tenants
"Into the Senses"
Rock

Skinny jeans won't fit these kahunas.

So it's Sunday morning and your day has started off a little slow as usual as you swear to God you'll never drink again and pace around like a mad scientist looking for a recipe to quiet down your tummy and stop your head spinning, with a bucket nearby just in case of course.

You don't want to turn on the radio because you know deep down inside any mainstream record will be sure to make you puke at moments like this, but deep down inside you also know that anything at all has the capacity to make you do just that. But for some reason you're hear reading this, maybe hopefully to take your mind off the shame and regret of drinking too much, who knows. Whatever the case maybe, you're about to be whisked away to the homeland of rock music, well not Cleveland, the second home of rock, where puking is an everyday occurence. Yes, we're talking about the UK, home of the Beatles. So at least if you do puke you'll be proud you did it with some of the best drinkers, and hence the best pukers the world has ever seen. So let's get right down to it, shall we?

Now this band, The Tenants is one of a kind. If you ever hear a band like them, it's probably them. If you ever hear a band trying to sound like them they'll probably suck, and lastly, if you ever try to find them, you'll fail.

After releasing a plethora of underground rock anthems the band suddenly disappeared from the face of the planet. The individual members of the band are still alive and kicking but there hasn't been a peep from the band for some years now. Loyal fans haven't given up though, and are still waiting patiently. If there's anything we've learned about great bands, it's that it takes them ages to admit any of their new records is better than their last, or even good enough to be an actual music release that represents them or they can put their name on for that matter.

This is one of the last tracks we heard from them, and one of their best ever. Maybe they dropped off the radar because the thought of topping it was so scary, or maybe they thought they could never top it, who knows.

This is not for the faint-hearted.

If you have a lot of room in your skinny jeans when you pull them to the very top (figuratively speaking), you are advised to loosen up your belt before even going near the play button.

This record will grow your kahunas considerably. If you don't have kahunas, you will by the end of the song.

It's big, it's assertive, it's brave, it's masterful, it will light a fire in your soul you'll never be able to put out, its lyrical content is deeply moving, hard to wrap the average mind around, deeply unsettling and painfully satisfying. Performance-wise, you'll be lost for words. If it's been a while since you had an adrenalin rush of any sort (and no, not sex) caution is advised again. If this is your first time really listening to a real rock record or you spend most of your time on Spotify listening to glamorous mainstream rock bands, again prepare yourself. And finally, but most importantly, this record is addictive but is harder to find than a boxer that reads well (Mayweather!) - you won't find it anywhere in the world no matter who you are, where you are from or who you know. Well maybe you will if you are really persistent but you'll have a really hard time and you'll deserve a medal for it. Whatever you do it's important that you restrict your searches to strictly online. You don't want to go where these guys hang out, they're not Imagine Dragons, Godsmack or whatever you've been made to believe a rock band is in today's sloppy music industry that is more hype and really good music pr than anything else. But don't worry, if you find yourself wanting more of The Tenants, just head over to the Skunk Radio Live Record Store and download their Skunk Radio Live EP. It's packed with enough good songs to hold you, while we await their full Skunk Radio Live album, if it will ever happen.
